2024-2025
As you know, reading affects every aspect of a child's learning- reading, writing, math, science, and social sciences, so a strong foundation is key! We are using many great resources in class to learn and reinforce reading skills that you can use at home, too. Please review the following information.
The activities in Core5 support and build on our classroom curriculum and focus on developing individualized reading skills in six areas: phonological awareness, phonics, structural analysis, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The easiest way to log in is through clever (Clever.com/in/iusd) using your child’s computer login information. The goal is to completed at least level 5 (kindergarten) by the end of this school year.
Your child has access to award-winning digital resources through Kids A-Z, Learning A-Z's website created for students. Students are able to listen to stories as they are read aloud, read stories, and take quizzes in order to earn stars as incentives to build robots and decorate rockets! Students also can level up as they demonstrate increased reading abilities. Students also have the ability to record themselves reading aloud, helping monitor students' fluency and decoding skills. Razkid's also greatly supports building/monitoring students' comprehension skills!
ST Math is a visual instructional program that builds a deep conceptual understanding of math through rigorous learning and creative problem solving to engage, motivate and challenge K-6 students toward higher achievement.
